Welcome to the Research Ethics and Compliance UnitThe Research Ethics and Compliance Unit (RECU) provides resources, advice and assistance to University personnel regarding their ethics and compliance obligations. The RECU also provides secretarial support to the committees that have oversight of these ethics and compliance activities for the University and manages associated administrative requirements. All University of Adelaide staff, students, title holders and visitors must ensure that they identify all relevant legislative and compliance requirements of the university and also of regulatory and advisory bodies in relation to their research, teaching, or experimentation. They must also undertake the necessary steps to meet their obligations with regard to obtaining the necessary clearances prior to commencing their work. The work of the unit covers: animal ethics, gene technology, human research ethics, quarantine and security-sensitive biological agents. More information including procedures for applying for approvals, upcoming submission dates, news items, procedures and guidelines and staff contact details are linked from the navigation to the left of this page.
