Teaching Awards and GrantsThe University recognises excellence in both teaching and support for the student experience through a number of internal teaching awards and grants and by providing support to staff in applying for external teaching grants and awards. Internal Teaching Awards and GrantsAwardsThe University confers two awards annually for teaching excellence:
The Adelaide Graduate Centre provides an award in recognition of excellence in postgraduate supervision: Professional staff who demonstrate excellence in providing support for students are recognised through the: GrantsThe University provides a number of Learning and Teaching Implementation Grants in strategic priority areas that support the University's Education Plan. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Quality) provides information annually on the application process and the thematic areas that will be supported in that particular year. In 2008 grants were allocated to the following projects that addressed the theme areas of Curriculum and Assessment, and Feedback to Students. Project: Online Role Play Project: An integrated web-based assignment submission, assessment and feedback system Project: An enhancement implementation of Maple TA in Mathematics Service Courses Project: Development and evaluation of the Script Concordance Test as a test of clinical reasoning in high stakes examinations in the MBBS program Project: Implementation of an electronic audience system (EARS) to enhance student learning through direct formative and summative feedback Project: Implementation of a program evaluation mechanism Project: Adaptation of a successful, medically-orientated, online formative learning tool for use in Science based practical courses External Teaching Awards, Grants and FellowshipsThe Australian Learning and Teaching Council (formally Carrick Institute) provides grants, fellowships and awards for university teaching with the aim of promoting and advancing learning and teaching in Australian higher education. The University has been very successful in ALTC programs. AwardsThe Committee for Learning and Teaching Awards (CLTA) nominates staff for ALTC teaching awards. Staff interested in participating in the award program are welcome to submit an expression of interest or may be invited to submit an expression of interest to the CLTA at designated times during the year.
